Terms of Service.
By creating an account, uploading documents, or utilizing ResumeBuilder, you agree to these terms of service, security policies, and acceptable use guidelines.
1. Description of Service
ResumeBuilder provides deterministic resume typesetting, formatting audit diagnostics, and document export services.
We deliberately reject pseudo-scientific “0–100 ATS score” marketing gimmicks in favor of deterministic parse-health verification, single-column document layouts, Word OpenXML (.docx) exports, and browser-based Typst vector PDF compilation.
2. Truthful & Defensible Accomplishments
Our software is architected with a strict Honesty-First & Anti-Fabrication Guarantee:
- Our AI and algorithmic generators are guardrailed to never invent, hallucinate, or fabricate numbers, percentages, revenue metrics, or employment dates on your behalf.
- You agree not to use this service to generate fraudulent, deceptive, or intentionally misleading career credentials or application materials.
- You bear sole responsibility for verifying the accuracy and defensibility of all bullet points and factual claims before submitting your resume to prospective employers.
3. Upload Security & Prohibited Content
To maintain the integrity and safety of our infrastructure and the HR systems our candidates apply to, we enforce strict automated file security scanning on all uploaded documents.
Strictly Prohibited Upload Vectors:
- Binary executables disguised as resumes (Windows PE / MZ, Linux ELF, macOS Mach-O, Java bytecode).
- Shell scripts, batch scripts, or interpreter shebang files (e.g. `#!/bin/sh`, PowerShell).
- PDF documents containing active exploit vectors, such as `/Launch` process directives, `/EmbeddedFiles` payload streams, `/JavaScript` hooks, or `/OpenAction` triggers.
- Word documents containing binary VBA macros (`vbaProject.bin`) or embedded OLE objects.
Any upload containing these signatures will be rejected immediately by our pre-parser security filter. Repeated attempts to upload malicious payloads or exploit documents will result in automatic IP blacklisting and account termination.
4. Acceptable Use & Rate Limits
You agree not to engage in abusive behavior, including:
- Deploying automated scrapers, bots, or scripts to flood API endpoints.
- Attempting to bypass our per-IP sliding-window rate limits or security sandboxes.
- Probing, scanning, or testing vulnerabilities of the hosting infrastructure without prior written authorization.
- Attempting to access, alter, or intercept another candidate's resume documents.
We reserve the right to throttle, rate-limit, or suspend accounts that degrade system stability or exceed fair-use consumption thresholds.
5. Intellectual Property & Content Ownership
You Own Your Resume: You retain 100% intellectual property ownership of the resume content, work history, and personal accomplishments you input or generate. We claim zero ownership or copyright over your resumes.
Platform IP: The application source code, typographic layouts, styling tokens, WASM export glue, and proprietary analysis rules remain the exclusive intellectual property of the operator.
6. Disclaimer of Warranties & Employment Outcomes
The service is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis without warranties of any kind, either express or implied.
No Guarantee of Hiring: While our documents are rigorously engineered to comply with enterprise ATS parsing standards (Workday, Taleo, Greenhouse, iCIMS), employment decisions, interview offers, and hiring determinations are solely at the discretion of prospective employers. We make no guarantee that using this service will result in job offers or employment.
7. Modifications to Terms
We may revise these Terms of Service periodically to reflect product improvements, new document features, or regulatory requirements. Your continued use of the service following posted revisions constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
